I had the great privilage of attending some seminars and lessons a few years ago with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt Roberto Atalla of and found him to be more than just a great BJJ coach but a really great human being as well. When you meet him on the mat, you can feel his love of the sport of BJJ and he truly goes out of his way to spread his knowledge in a very unselfish way. I came across this video where he demonstrates some basic drills for BJJ and you really can’t get to a high level if you don’t know these simple movements. They really transformed my hip movement and I’m sure you’ll feel a big difference after drilling them regularly for a few weeks. They make great warm up movements and will make all your escapes and transitions smoother. Check it out:
